Most Expensive Haircut Ever
Went to the least glamorous looking barber shop named 'Barber Shop' in The Broadway, Mill Road! (Jalan Ipoh KL equivalent! despite it sounding posh)
Barber was a 70y/o guy who was friendly but I was worried if his hand was steady enough to cut my hair.
It was only a 20minute experience.
Plain haircut.
No Kung-Fu massage at the end (Not like those Indian barbers in Malaysia where they will give you their Karate chops and try to dislocate your neck).
The bill was 14.75 pounds. (The odd figure was probably the VAT of 15%).
The last haircut I had in UK was in Edinburgh and was only 6 pounds (back in 2003).
P/S: As expected my side-burns were 'senget' and had to go back into the OT for a re-laparotomy.
(apparently the standard hair cut in cambridge at that area is about 12-15 pounds).
Want to survive the credit crunch in UK? Be a Barber......
(He actually said that the barber business is 'credit crunch' proof!)
