Mei Sin @ Jalan Imbi

As you all know..Jalan Imbi is a small food haven..one corner we have Soo Kei that serves fantastic Sang Har Mee and Beef Kuey Teow..on the other corner sits Sun Foong Bak Kut Teh..then theres another corner..that sits a humble chinese kopi tiam..Mei Sin in mandarin and Mei Sum in cantonese..so what do they serve? For one..they actually serve decent "no skimming on quantity" drinks..and they do a damn fine roti bakar with butter and kaya..

There are various stalls and the highlights are basically the ipoh hor fun which is highlighted below and the pork noodle with all your spare parts..which i might highlight another time when my parents tapau for me especially on Saturday mornings..

My Teh Si Ping..which actually tastes according to how i like it..kurang manis..the time i took to take this mediocre picture resulted in a thin layer water resulting from melted ice..why i say they dont skim on quantity is reason being i saw the lady making the drinks..someone ordered milo kosong..and she proceeded to fill the glass half full of milo powder!..now that you dont find often find that..

My damn fine roti bakar..i realise i like to do all this funky glowing effect..soon i will be bored..but right now i like..just like the smooth kaya..

As you all know..ipoh is famous for only a couple of things..20 years ago, they were famous for their girls..because the source of water was up in the hills and was said to be crystal clear and that helped alot resulting in smooth white skin..20 years down the road..the water is as polluted as the air..all the water is bottled up as mineral water..i got no comment..i just hope all the ipoh girls dont boycott my blog when they read this..back to the subject..ipoh is also famous for their smooth hor fun..which is served many styles..the ipoh style has a reddish base soup resulting from the use of prawn heads served with thinly sliced chicken breasts..here we either get steamed chicken and we can order clear soup or dry hor fun to go with it..what you see here..is ultra smooth hor fun dry style..served with a steamed chicken thigh..both competing to be the smoothest..just a word of warning..dont wear white..because chances when you mix...

Honestly it takes an expert to do this..seriously it does..and to mix it then take another picture..i look like a weird ass taking photos in a normal coffee shop...muahahaha..

So another decent no frill coffee shop to drop by in the mornings, maybe before you head for Sungai Wang, Lot 10 or Starhill? Or maybe after doing your grocery shopping in the Imbi Market? or like me, just going there to makan because i happen to wake up so early to service my car..An honest 7.8 out of 10
